Gone are the days when cricket was considered to be an underprivileged profession. Some years ago in a common society parents used to stop children aiming to be a professional cricketer. Cricketers need not to worry for their monetarist sides now a day, as the sport has become one of the best paying profession. Usually at international level the monetary issues of cricketers are controlled through their central contracts with cricket boards. However if you are a true talent you need no contract to earn some huge amounts of money. Today’s game offers a lot of opportunities for those who are capable to play for various domestic teams apart from their national cricket teams. Various T20 leagues in the world at the moment pay colossal amount of coinage in a very short span of time.
In Pakistan however the situation is not that satisfactory. Certainly that does not mean that Pakistani cricketers do not have any opportunities of getting rich. In fact the Pakistan cricketers are few of the most talented players in the world. And given the opportunities they can be some of the highest earners in the field. A clear example of such cricketers is Azhar Mahmood and Yasir Arafat. Both these cricketers have long been out of the national side. In fact in PCB’s papers these two are semi-retired players. But the truth is at the moment both these players are some pf the most demanded players in county cricket. Both Azhar and Yasir have been dominant in English county cricket for many years now. The sole reason for their demand is the skill level. And obviously they are charging reasonable amounts for their services.
Highest earning Pakistani cricketers list for the year 2016 is however comprised of the figures provided by PCB. In a country where finding the true facts and figures is not easy, one can only rely on the findings provided by some accountable officials. Keeping in view the current scenario these figures seem legitimate as well because in Pakistan the best way to earn for a cricketer is through their central contracts with the cricket board. Highest Earning Pakistani Cricketers list as per PCB is topped by opener Muhammad Hafeez. According to documents sent by the PCB to the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Co-ordination for the fiscal year 2015-16, it paid some 46 cricketers around 550 million rupees as their fees and bonuses for all formats of the game. Interestingly, the above mentioned year was also the best for players in terms of money.
