Most runs scored off one over in T20 Internationals
Most runs scored off one over or the term most expensive overs in T20 format should not be a strange thing. The shortest version of the game is certainly meant to have been invented for such thrilling action. However hitting six sixes off all six balls in an over is a bit too much, isn’t it? Well, what we can say about the ‘brutality’ of some of the hard hitters in the world who have no mercy on bowlers when going for aggressive batting. Let T20 apart, even in One Day Internationals, the record of hitting six sixes off one over has been achieved. Most runs scored in an ODI over are exactly the same as in the most expensive over in a T20 game i.e. 36. The only difference being the players hitting them.
In One Day Internationals the feat was done by Herschelle Gibbs while in T20I it was Yuvraj Singh who went blazing against Stuart Broad. Considering the rapidity batsmen are taking in breaking the cricket records more recently, not a single record is safe now. A few days back the highest ODI total record was broken whereas last night Australia also claimed the highest ever T20I total. Soon we might see even the most runs scored off one over record broken as well. Being honest the feat is certainly on stake after witnessing some of the T20I games held in the last three weeks or so.
In fact West Indian batsman Evin Lewis almost got his name registered in the list as well when West Indies and India met in USA a few days ago. Had he been able to hit a six on last ball off Stuart Binny’s over, it would have been a 37 runs over. Although the feat remained safe that night but it won’t remain safe for so long. Most runs scored in a T20I over list currently stands as under.
