This is Zinedine Zidane – Real Madrid Dream Team [Video]
Zinedine Zidane’s debut on the bench of Real Madrid could not be brighter. Apart from the goals and good game, the French coach can boast of being the best Los Blancos debutant since 1959 and the fourth best in the history of the club. The French began to make history at the Bernabeu from the very first day he was sitting on the white bench. Zidane’s debut is just worse than José Berraondo in 1928 against Cartagena (9-0), Fleitas Solich in 1959 against Betis (7-1) and Pedro Llorente Lopez ‘Peris’ in 1926 at the Gymnastics (6-0). The all other debuts were overcome by an ambitious coach yesterday that despite the big win, said to reporters that “the team will still remain many things to improve.”
Comparing the last four Real Madrid managers’ debuts with the club Zidane had the best one. Mourinho and Benitez were not even able to win in their first match while Pellegrini and Ancelotti won the three points by the minimum. The Chilean debuted with win over Deportivo Coruna 3-2 while the Italian would get the victory over Real Betis thanks to a goal from Isco in early two minutes of the game. Zinedine Zidane has stepped at the Santiago Bernabeu and is already part of the history of the debuts in the Madrid club. The French though played at home however his opponents were not easy, having been already won against some top teams including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla. Zidane’s side won the match with a score of 5-0. Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas told the press the secret behind the great success the club got.
“He (Zidane) told us to be relaxed, to put in our best effort and to enjoy ourselves. You always have to have confidence to do things well and to try to get everyone working in the best way possible. Zidane talks with confidence, as a manager has to talk. It was a good game from the team. I kept a clean sheet, which is important.”
