Top 10 Highest run chase in T20 Internationals
27th of August 2016 will be remembered forever in cricket history. The day gave a lot of reasons to the cricket fans to feel themselves fortunate to live in such an era. It was probably the first day in cricket history when a match from all three formats of the game started on the same day. India played West Indies for the first time in USA in T20 format while Pakistan faced England at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s. Meanwhile South Africa started the final test against New Zealand at their home venue. Batting first South Africa looked in complete control on day 1 while Pakistan lost to their hosts as usual. However it was the West Indies vs India game that caught the most light.
Being played out on a neutral venue the match turned out to be the best match in T20 history bursting of cricket records. West Indies batted first and set a mammoth record of 246 runs in their respective 20 overs – the third highest T20I target in history. Evin Lewis the West Indian opener who was just playing his second T20 ever scored a beautiful hundred off just 48 balls. It was the second fastest T20 hundred for West Indies at international level. In reply India played bravely to almost set up the highest run chase in T20 Internationals history. KL Rahul scored the 3rd fastest T20 hundred ever to take India on 244 at the end of their 20 overs. West Indies won a thriller that contained nearly 500 runs in just 20 overs.
