Neymar departure is not worrying Barcelona

Meanwhile, Barcelona isn’t even worried about the prospect of Brazilian superstar Neymar departure from Nou Camp. Or so the La Liga champions’ financial vice-president Susana Monje remarked on Wednesday.

As compared to that, Neymar is in tentative talks to extend his current contract beyond its current June 2018 expiration date. Paris Saint-Germain is among the few clubs who could afford his service.

But Monje told press that losing Neymar will hurt. Since he is one third of their irresistible forward combination with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Neymar departure isn’t an option.

“Neymar’s renewal is a sporting issue,” Monje told at a news conference.

“We have not studied the impact of hypothetically losing Neymar. We don’t contemplate it.”

Spanish media claim the French giants PSG have offered Neymar an astonishing salary of £23million (30 million euros) per season, twice his current wage. As tempting as that sounds, not worrisome. Neymar have other plans.

He sat out Brazil’s disastrous Copa America campaign to rest on the request of his club. But the 24-year-old will be a part of his country’s Rio Olympics squad.  The team can add three players from outside the under-23 bracket.

But, the gut feeling in the Barcelona camp is that Manchester United won’t be able to snatch away Neymar.

Meanwhile, Neymar’s colleague Sergio Busquets isn’t worried whether he might leave for England or France.

They believe Neymar will stay at Nou Camp

The Spanish international midfielder said at Euro 2016: “I’m not worried, in the world of football what happens, happens. He (Neymar) has already said he is fine, he is comfortable and I believe he will stay despite the rumours.”
