Being a fan, it’s obvious that you really, really want to meet Neymar. All of us do. But here’s a tip for something you must not do : Do not try to sneak into the Brazil team hotel for the Olympics. It is absolutely creepy, and you’ll almost definitely end up in handcuffs.

Case in point: A 21-year-old fan went to jail on Thursday. He was hiding in the laundry room of the hotel the Brazil team is staying at. And the whole thing was apparently in an effort to meet Neymar.

“Hotel staff noticed something strange in his behavior and called us,” a police officer told Brazilian media. “[He] planned to approach Neymar and the team.”

When the latest fan incident occurred, Neymar and Brazil’s Olympic squad were in Goiania. It was ahead of a friendly against Japan. Moreover, their Olympic group stage quest begins on Aug. 4 against South Africa.

Fans going quite out of their way to meet their favorite stars is, of course, rarely new. Recent examples include a fan swimming the Mediterranean Sea. He did it to Lionel Messi’s boat near Ibiza.
