Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is having a dreamy start to his managerial tasks at Los Blancos. The former French playmaker was appointed as the new boss at Santiago Bernabeu for a mid-change when Benitez was sacked. Before joining the first team Zidane was working with Real Madrid reserves as the head coach. However his recruitment as the first team manager has also worked fine till now. Real Madrid has so far played two matches under Zidane, being triumphant in both with some huge margin. Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema al have been in a stunning form since the French joined the team. After Real Madrid’s thrashing against Sporting the manager spoke ro media highlighting the players’ performance. “We played a very good first half. The start was fantastic because it’s not easy to score five goals twice,” he told reporters.
“The [front] three are very good and that’s no surprise. I’m very happy with their work and not only with the ball, they worked very well defensively. And that’s important. I know what we can do and what we’ll do in future. I’m just at the beginning, because what I want is to keep going for a title at the end of the season. We must continue like that.
“We want to win games because that decides everything in the end.”
Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema both scored two goals while Gareth Bale could manage a single before getting himself hurt. Zidane had previously talked with the frontline players to keep a check on the defense as well and after Sunday’s game he is pleased with the effort. However the thing that worries the French is the fitness of both Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema. Earlier this season Real Madrid has lost both strikers leaving Cristiano Ronaldo alone at the front.
“Karim’s is a kick. Bale’s is more complicated because it’s his calf. “We’ll see what the scan says. We hope it’s something small.”
