Top 10 Worst bowling figures in One Day Internationals
After showing some great performances in Test series, Pakistan cricket team is back on its usual embarrassing mindset in One day Internationals. The side has already lost the limited overs series against the hosts England without winning a single match. Although there are still two matches to be played the pace team Pakistan is progressing there is no hope for any good news for the Pakistan fans. It has already been said that England is the most dangerous ODI side while playing at home and their claim of series is no surprise. However the way Pakistan lost, especially the record breaking third ODI, is pure humiliation. England thrashed Pakistan’s so called world class bowing attack for a world record 444 runs in fifty overs.
Alex Hales who has been a consistent failure in Test series as well as in first two ODI games, smashed the highest individual score for the English side. Jos Butler and Eoin Morgan also contributed sensibly as England claimed the highest ever total in One Day Internationals. In reply Pakistan were less than ordinary as always. Only Sharjeel Khan and then Muhammad Amir coming on the last number showed a little resistance as England claimed the series as well as the match. Wahab Riaz the Pakistan pacer conceded 110 runs in his quota of 10 overs – second worst bowling figures in ODI history.
Apart from the worst bowling figures form Wahab Riaz, Pakistan also conceded over 400 runs in an ODI for the very first time in history. The side is usually known for its bowling attack and in English conditions they were highly anticipated to do well. However the output from the whole unit has been way below than average. And as for the worst bowling figures in ODI, Wahab Riaz only lacked three runs from getting the most embarrassing record on his name. Australian bowler Mick Lewis concede three runs more than Wahab against South Africa in 2006 – the ever worst bowling figures in One Dayers.
