Top 10 Most Expensive Real Madrid Signings [Video]
The penalty imposed by FIFA at Real Madrid that would prevent them from signing until June 2017 has caused many rumors about possible additions to the club. Above all the speculations the one that has been sounding more loudly is of David de Gea. Last summer Real Madrid could not incorporate the Spanish international as the last minute mishandling occurred. Consequently the goalkeeper ended up with renewing his agreement with Manchester United, but a clause of 40 million euros is not excessively high figure for a goalkeeper of his class. Real Madrid side is still chasing the Manchester United goal-shield and with the summer transfer window being restricted for the club it was expected that the signing could be made in January.
Luis Van Gaal has already made clear his intention not to let him go mid-season, so it is unlikely that the player leaves Old Trafford this month.
“I just see a very happy player playing for Manchester United,” the Dutchman told a news conference when asked about the chances of selling the former Atletico Madrid in the winter transfer market. Real Madrid on the other hand are still appearing calm even after penalized by FIFA. Though the club is considering to go for the appeal against the decision, Zinedine Zidane is much confident with his current side. Earlier this week the former French national was asked about the hasty signings Real Madrid could go for after getting banned for summer however he rejected such chances insisting on getting the best out of the current squad. The Santiago Bernabeu side is currently going with Keylor Navas as their first choice goalkeeper with Kiko Casilla given some rare chances. The Costa Rican’s performance has been a mix of good and bad in front of the net through the season. Real Madrid certainly want something reliable except Keylor Navas but with their chances of signing De Gea very much little after the ban, let’s see what comes out.
