Rogerio says Neymar will play freely at the Olympics
Brazil’s Olympic coach Rogerio Micale does not want to saddle Neymar with a particular position in Brazil’s attack during the Olympic games. The senior captain has been chosen as one of three over 23 players permitted in the selection. He will be alongside goalkeeper Fernando Prass and Bayern Muich’s Douglas Costa.

Rogerio will use a system of “organised chaos” to give freedom to attackers. Stars such as Neymar, Douglas Costa, Gabigol and Gabriel Jesús will play freely. In an exclusive interview with Globo, Rogerio said, “It is a very solid concept in my mind, is very clear to me.
“When I made the call I was able to choose pieces I want for the team. We will work the best way we know how to do this through training and I believe they have the capacity to assimilate.” With Brazil bidding for their first ever gold medal for the football, Rogerio is keen to give his talented attack freedom.
“It is not enough to have an attack with the power we have in Brazil and to restrict it too much. Of course, we must have certain organization to support them, especially in offensive transition, but to want to remain fixed makes it too easy for the opponent.”
Rogerio also defended his decision to call up Douglas Costa. It was despite the array of talented young attackers and Neymar already available to him, “It was my desire. Who does not want a Douglas Costa on the team? He is a world reference, a player who generates a lot of great discomfort.
“We have talents, not only Douglas and Neymar, but Gabriel Jesus, the other Gabriel and Luan. There are five players who give me many options. At times I can play with three or four. We are characterized as an attacking team and we need options.”
