Top 10 Players with most nineties in their cricket career
Some cricket records are a source of esteem for their makers while few others are pure shame. Most test runs, most hundreds in career, best bowling figures and fastest hundreds are the feats falling under the first category. Whereas most ducks in career, highest bowling economy or the worst batting average are covered by the later. However there is a genre of these cricket records which can be both embarrassing and a bit of venerated at the same time. Take the example of players with most nineties in their cricketing career. Opinions may vary but for me getting to the ninety runs itself is a regard. On the other hand getting out before reaching the hundred can be called fortune for a few times. However when it becomes a habit certainly it is an embarrassment.
Players which have fallen the most of times in nineties are those having capability of scoring high. At top we have the little master Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian batsman has been the victim of ‘nerves nineties for a record 28 times in all formats. Thus one cannot claim that players with most nineties in career lack the ability to finish off their inning because it is the same Sachin Tendulkar who holds the record for most number of hundreds. Then what should one be calling it? Fortune maybe. Regardless of the fact that Sachin had a near miss for 28 times in his career let’s look at the brighter side. Imagine had he completed these 28 centuries as well where his total tally of hundreds would have reached.
Followed by Sachin Tendulkar in most nineties in career list is probably the most unfortunate player in the world. The South African heart-winner Ab de Villiers rules the cricket world for his record breaking performances however as a team they are the most luckless side in the world. AB de Villiers has been dismissed within the score of 90 and 100 for 14 times so far. Check out the full list hereunder.
