Top 10 Oldest Cricketers to score a Hundred in tests
As discussed on a previous occasion, test cricket has risen again and is currently ruling the cricket fields. With India vs West Indies yet to come and Australia going against Sri Lanka in coming days, Pakistan is already up against the English side. The first test of Pakistan’s tour of England is already on its way with record breaking stats on day one. Pakistan being a bowling dependent side has never managed to keep their batting line up steady. The same was witnessed on the day one of first test between Pakistan and England. However Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan’s experience along with the fresh talent of Asad Shafiq saw team Pakistan notching up a good total in the end.
Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan being the oldest cricketers bears tons of experience. The reason Pakistan is still ranked third in ICC test rankings is mainly because of these two batting pillars. Both legendary players have always been crucial to the fragile batting line up. Though there has always been some performances from the young guys as well but none can match up the skill level these two of the oldest cricketers possess. While the whole world is expecting some huge comeback from Muhammad Amir, Misbah Ul Haq has literally stolen the show. The Pakistani test captain played his debut test in England and put up a brilliant century. But the greatest part is yet to come. The man of crisis for Pakistan did it at an age nobody has ever done before.
Aged 42 years and 47 days Misbah Ul haq became the Oldest captain to score a century. Before him the previous oldest cricketers was Bob Simpson (41y, 359d) in 1977-78.
