Neymar will sign a new five-year Barcelona contract in the next few days, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has said.

The current deal of neymar with Barca ends in june 2018. Already talks over an extension were visible for some time. There were also regular rumours regarding potential suitors like Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United. They might have paid the 24-year-old’s €200 million release clause this summer.
However, Bartomeu told a news conference on Thursday: “Neymar is not leaving Barca. He is not going to leave.
“The socios [club members] know this, and that is why — and I don’t know whether it will happen tomorrow or the day after — Neymar is going to sign for five seasons.”
Neymar’s former agent Wagner Ribeiro had recently denoted there was interest for Neymar from “three big clubs”. However, he was happy at the Camp Nou. The forward’s father afterwards stressed that there was “zero chance” of a move to Madrid.
Later on weekday Neymar almost confirmed a deal has been struck, taking to social media to mention he was “very happy to continue living this dream.”
Bartomeu revealed that Barca’s income for the 2015/16 season was £550m – £51m more than the previous season. The club has cut its debt by £33m to £231m.
“We have a strategic plan to continue to increase our revenue in order to keep up the competitiveness we have in football and maintain the best players here,” Bartomeu said.
“We need to renew [the contract of] Messi and also [Javier] Mascherano, as well as lots of other players that we want to stay because they deserve it.”
“Sixty million euros (£50m) is the figure that the sporting area is working on to dedicate to new signings,” he said. “We’re looking for reinforcements.
