The Brazilian international, is on holiday in Rio de Janeiro as of now. He is to commit to the Spanish champions until the year 2022.
Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo report about it extensively. It says that his new deal will include a £186 million (€230m) release clause. Any club will have to compensate if they are to take him away from the Nou Camp.
He has two years left to run on his existing contract. The offer of a new one is something that Barcelona have been weighing up since last year.
The 24-year-old thought a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain. but any likelihood of that happening will be quashed if a new deal at Barcelona is about.
Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper report that PSG’s robust Brazilian defender Marquinhos could be on his way to Barcelona.
The front page has the headline ‘Quiero ir al Barca’, which roughly translates to ‘I want to go to Barca’.
Report came in light that the Brazilian has talked to PSG owner Naseer Al-Khelaifi.He remarked that his time in Paris has come to an end and he wants to move on.
The 22-year-old has a contract to the French champions until the summer of 2019. But it will be difficult to stop the defender leaving if he has no desire to stay.
