Most centuries in Career – Test ODI and T20I combined
Most centuries in a cricket career list is topped by a player the whole world is well acquainted of. The little master Sachin Tendulkar who is also the crown holder form highest run scorer history. With over 34000 runs scored in total, Sachin Tendulkar has left a tough task for the coming players to beat his feats. Take the example of most centuries scored. The gap between the first and second placed player is so evident that Sachin’s record seems unbreakable forever. Interestingly when speaking of all formats, both second and third placed players had the real chance to narrow down the gap. Sachin Tendulkar played only a single T20 in his entire career, on the other hand Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara- the second and third placers in most centuries list respectively, played a lot of T20 games.
No doubt, T20 being a limited overs game offers very little chances to get a three figured innings, still the opportunity has been there. Ricky Ponting played a total of 17 T20 international matches. However with his highest score of 98, he was unable to add a T20 hundred in his blistering career. Similarly Kumar Sangakkara, one of the best wicketkeepers in world played 56 T20s. considering the batting skills he was gifted with he should have scored more than one T20I hundreds but in reality his highest score reached only 78. Though Sachin Tendulkar also did not scored a lot in the sole t20 he played however that is not the point right now. Kumar Sangakkara at least had great opportunity to add in his tally of most centuries. Because at Ricky Ponting’s time even T20 format wasn’t that brutal.
Nevertheless, ranking aside, all these legendary players did their best for the sport and will be remembered forever. As for most centuries in cricket, the list is followed by more legends like Jacque Kallis, Mahela Jayawardane and Brian Lara.
