Cristiano Ronaldo is going through one of the worst spells of his career. The 30 years Old Real Madrid striker’s goal scoring ratio in this season is his lowest in the white shirt. The Portuguese did not get to shine with the ease he used to do at the beginning of the new season resulting in dropping his goal scoring ratio. His numbers, though still unattainable for any ordinary striker, have decreased also decreasing the market value of the player, according to Transfermarkt. Last November, the portal securities market Transfermarkt, made an assessment of the low price of Cristiano Ronaldo. The market value of the Real Madrid player fell for the first time since 2009 he landed on the white club, from 120 to 110 million euros. A drop of 10 million that leaves him as the second highest rated player in the world, behind Leo Messi (stayed in 120) and Neymar on his heels with a market price of 100 million.
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in exchange for 93 million euros in 2009, but with a market value of 70 million. This value climbed to 75 million in early 2010 and remained there until the summer, when it rose to 90 million euros. That was his market value over the next two years until the summer of 2012 when took another rush to the reach 100 million. In October 2014 the increase would be even higher, reaching 120 million value above all other players. Now for the first time in six and a half seasons at Los Blancos, it has dropped. Crostino Ronaldo’s performance in recent months has not been unto his natural level. The striker has been scoring goals but mostly against the weaker opponents and with certain breaks. His performance against the best teams is missing raising questions on his abilities with the growing age. Cristiano Ronaldo is a very ambitious player always trying to be the best in every aspect. The certain drop in his market value is a wakeup call for the player to recover as soon as possible.
