Cristiano Ronaldo Magic In The Air [Video]
Cristiano Ronaldo does not appear to be the main contender for this year’s Ballon d’Or award so some had doubts that the Portuguese could avoid the award presenting gala to be held on January 11 in Zurich. However, the player does not intend to miss the meeting because he believes that the mere fact of being among the finalists is already a good prize for the year he made. Though after all the personal hard work the striker did last season, it will not be easy for Cristiano Ronaldo to see Messi robbing the gold but he has enough courage to face his failures. In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo was the first to acknowledge that Messi’s 2015 was better than his, at least on a team level. So as per ‘Mundo Deportivo’ the Portuguese does not intend to miss the most important event for world football, which will be held in Zurich. Something that happened four years ago, when Ballon d’Or was awarded to Messi and he could only take the Silver Ball.
“You win competitions, you win the Champions League, you win the league in terms of individual. I did probably the best season of my career, which is good and I was the highest scorer in Europe, [but] it’s all about votes, it’s difficult, and to be honest, I’m not very worried about that because as I said many times, I never thought I’d win three times, to be honest.”
“To be honest, I think Messi is going to win this year because this kind of trophy, it depends on votes.”
In two weeks’ time the next Ballon d’Or winner will be out and surely Cristiano Ronaldo will be there once again as the top goal scorer of the year. 2015 might not have the best for Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo but the motive for 2016 can surely be taken from witnessing your rivals wining the price.
