Barcelona superstar Neymar and also Bayern Munich forward Douglas Costa are two big names. They are playing in the Brazilian men’s football team for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The host nation seems like determined to win the only major international football title it lacks. They finally confirmed the 18-man squad on Wednesday (29 June).

First of all, Men’s Olympic football includes majorly the under-23 players. But each squad may add three ‘over-age’ players. Brazil coach Rogéiro Micale has consequently selected Neymar, Douglas and also Palmeiras goalkeeper Fernando Prass due to these openings.

Among the other players in the squad, most noteworthy is Barcelona midfielder Rafinha. Also the Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos, Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson and Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa are there. While Gabriel Barbosa is apparently ‘the new Neymar’, with just as much passion.

Furthermore, Neymar himself has repeatedly said that he wants to help Brazil win their first Olympic title. As a result, Barcelona agreed in April that they would release him for the Rio 2016 Games in conclusion, since it’s necessary.

In addition, Micale said Costa had also showed will to play good at the Olympic Games rather than faltering. “Since the beginning he has displayed that he wants to be involved in this project, that playing in the Games would be a dream for him.”
