ANOTHER GOAL! Asensio scores a beauty for Real, and takes the score to Sociedad 0-2 Real Madrid
Los Blancos’ new addition, Asensio, scores a beauty for Real, just 5 min before the end of the first half of the team’s La Liga opening match, taking the score to Sociedad 0-2 Real Madrid. Since their first goal in the 2nd min of the match, scored by Gareth Bale, Real Madrid seemed to be the more confident of the two teams on the field. Sociedad tried their best, too, and enjoyed brief spells of possession, but Real Madrid continued to dominate.
Of course, the absence of Ronaldo, along with Benzema, was supposed to have shaken the confidence of the team. But, with experienced players like Bale and Marcelo, the new additions like Asensio and Morata seem to have found great enthusiasm. Even though Sociedad has not quite given up, the pressure is evidently building up on them. Mikel gets booked for a late challenge on Kroos, and within a few minutes, Morata drives into the opponent’s box, looking to send the ball in. But, unfortunately for the away team, Rulli makes a great save.
However, the moment of celebration for this great save doesn’t last long, as, in the 40th min, as Asensio smartly beats the offside trap, and manages to send his well-collected pass into the Sociedad box, past Rulli! A clean shot by this new player of Real Madrid! The team must be rejoicing, because their decision to rope in Asensio for the 2016-17 season has proven to be a good one, early on in the season!
Now, whether the Sociedad can save the match from here is not too difficult to say. However, they do have the advantage of being in their home ground.
