Abdul Razzaq points out the biggest problems in Pakistan Cricket
Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq who has been struggling to get his place in national team for quite a time now, has blame Waqar Younis for national team’s current decline. According to the all-rounder the recently-resigned coach of Pakistan Cricket team is the main cause of some of the biggest problems in Pakistan Cricket.
“It is no secret and I am witness to this that Waqar never wanted or respected senior players and was never able to treat all players equally and fairly which resulted in disharmony in the team. He himself is responsible for causing insecurity among the players and not being able to give them enough confidence to perform well for the country.” Razzaq lashed out at his former teammate. The veteran all-rounder who represented Pakistan in 46 tests and 265 ODIs has also criticized PCB’s decision to appoint Younis Khan and Misbah Ul Haq as advisors.
“Tell me if today Pakistan is at the bottom in limited over cricket who is responsible. Obviously, the very people who have been playing for the last six-seven years. So what advice will they give to the board”?
“There are some players who are only interested in good jobs and positions. How many want to work at the grass root level and really do something productive for Pakistan cricket?” asked the former Pakistani international cricket player.
Pakistan have been struggling to find any reliable young talent to be able to represent the country in the highest level of competition. Though PCB is currently busy with their domestic ODI Pakistan Cup in search of new players to be considered for their selection into national team. Abdul Razzaq however was hopeful for the resolution of some of the biggest problems in Pakistan cricket after the appointment of Inzmam Ul Haq as the new chief selector of Pakistan.
“I have played with him and under his captaincy and if he follows the same principles he followed as a captain than he will be doing something good for Pakistan cricket.”
